The competition and awards ceremony took place in Ottawa on May 2 and 3, 2016. Iva is a grade 11 International Baccalaureate (IB) student from New Westminster Secondary School in BC.
SFU researchers help discover new HIV vaccine-related tool
/0 Comments/in Announcements /by awp-adminMedia release by SFU News of our discovery, published in Chemistry & Biology (now termed Cell Chemical Biology), of a generally harmless bacterium, Rhizobium radiobacter, that on its surface carries sugar molecules that resemble those on the surface of HIV imparted by the mammalian host cell. The discovery of these bacterial sugar molecules could help in the development of a vaccine against this still important virus.
